Karachi Heatwave: Inter board asks govt to delay exams by 4 days

The chairman of the Inter Board has requested the education minister to allow for the postponement of the Intermediate examinations in Karachi by four days.

Naseem Memon, the chairman of the Intermediate Board, has made it clear that exams for intermediate students cannot begin on May 28 and may only begin on June 1.

It is noteworthy that the extremely warm weather caused the Matric exams to be postponed earlier.

According to Naseem Memon, 21 higher secondary schools have been assigned as examination sites for the Inter exams. Inter exams in the morning and the Matric exams in the evening at these uniform examination centers.

He mentioned that the postponed Matric papers will now be conducted at the same 21 centers from May 28th, as it is not possible to have both Boards’ exams running concurrently at these centers.

Naseem Memon informed that a meeting has been called today, involving the Education Minister, Boards, and Universities, where the Matric Board Chairman will also be present. The aim is to sit together and find a solution to this issue.
