New rules announced for teachers close to retirement

Sindh launches e-Transfer system for teachers

LAHORE: The Punjab Education Department has started new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding Leave Preparatory to Retirement cases of teachers.

Now, under the new system, authorities will not accept cases for LPR that are not complete. In addition, each application will be required to include a checklist.

As per the new guidelines, it has been made mandatory to authenticate all supporting documents from the District Education Officer (DEO) or the concerned Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The officers are also advised to make their recommendations specific.

In addition, according to the report, LPR cases without the necessary documents will simply be returned.

Candidates aspiring to be LPRs need to provide proofs of service, appointment, promotion, and payslips, along with a leave record from the initial appointment as a teacher to date.

The department has further made it clear that the district officers will now be responsible for the delay in dealing with LPR cases.
