Punjab announces schedule for academic year 2025-26

LAHORE: The Punjab Education Department has announced the schedule for the next academic year 2025-26, which will begin on April 1, 2025.

The education department said that the annual exams for the current academic year 2024-25 are scheduled to take place from March 10 to March 20.

The examinations will be conducted across 42,000 government schools in Punjab, with more than 6.5 million students expected to participate.

Results are set to be announced in the last week of March, while the new academic year 2025-26 is scheduled to begin on April 1.

The education authorities have also made changes to the examination format for matriculation students.

The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board has updated the marking scheme for Islamic Studies and Pakistan Studies, raising their total marks from 50 to 100 each.

According to the new policy, Islamic Studies will be tested in ninth grade, while Pakistan Studies will be evaluated in tenth grade.

The PTBB has already published new textbooks according to the updated syllabus and initiated the printing process.
