Punjab govt opens online applications for teachers jobs in schools

LAHORE: If you are an aspiring teacher, this could be your chance to gain teaching experience in government schools as the School Education Department has started offering contract-based opportunities for teachers.

Teachers will receive a stipend, and there will be an opportunity for contract renewal but ideal candidates must have academic qualifications, communication skills, and a genuine passion for teaching.

In the first phase, over 1 lakh temporary teachers will be hired to fill these vacancies in government schools. The recruitment drive will target 115,000 vacant teaching posts across the region. Those interested in applying can submit their applications before January 24, 2025.

The recruitment drive aims to address the ongoing shortage of teachers in the region, with 42,000 schools having vacancies. The teaching period will be from February to May, with a possibility of renewal after the summer holidays.

Deadline to Apply

For shortlisted candidates, make sure to be ready for the interview scheduled on January 25. The final selection list is to be published on January 31, 2025.

Those who are interested can apply through the School Punjab Government App, which has been enabled for online applications.
