Punjab students to get holiday on Saturdays

Punjab students to get holiday on Saturdays

LAHORE: The Punjab Education Foundation has announced that henceforth, its partner schools shall observe Saturday as a holiday. Previously, schools operating under PEF did not have a Saturday off.

Concurrently, the school timings have been revised to the following: from 8:45 am to 1:30 pm, while schools will close at 12:30 pm on Fridays.

These timings will be valid until April 15, 2026. Last month, the Punjab Education Foundation kick-started a major recruitment process with over 100 posts available in different departments.

The hiring list also includes eight Subject Specialist posts in core subjects and posts of Network Support Engineers, Executive Assistants, and more. Meanwhile, PEF announced 10 Driver posts that carry a salary of Rs 57,500 per month.

Meanwhile, various private schools in Punjab have been found flouting government instructions to avoid sending children on outings outdoors due to rising smog levels.

Disregarding the ban imposed province-wide, these institutions have continued making arrangements for the outings of their students to places like Joyland, Jallo Park, Safari Park, and even the Lahore Zoo.
