LAHORE: The Punjab University has officially announced Eid al-Fitr and spring holidays 2026 through a formal announcement, which was made by the Registrar’s Office, Academic Branch, Record Section.
The notification states that Punjab University will close its entire campus from March 20, 2026, until March 23, 2026, because of Eid al-Fitr holidays. All university teaching departments, administrative offices, and all university centers, colleges, and schools will stop their normal operations during this time.
The university administration described this decision as a measure to provide convenience to students and staff in light of the holy festival of Eid al-Fitr.
The notification states that the Spring Recess will begin immediately after the Eid holidays. The university will close its teaching departments, institutes, centers, constituent colleges, and schools from March 24, 2026, until March 27, 2026, because of the spring break.
Students will return to academic activities on March 30, 2026, which provides them with two consecutive holidays and time to celebrate Eid and rest and study for their academic work.
The announcement states that the administrative staff will begin their normal work schedule on March 24, 2026, which follows the end of Eid holidays.
The directive requires all administrative staff members who work within any teaching department, institute, center, constituent college, or school to continue their normal office work while academic management activities proceed without interruption.
The notification is signed by Registrar Dr. Ahmed Islam, and copies have been sent to all Deans, Principals, Directors, Chairpersons, relevant officers, and various campuses to ensure necessary arrangements are made according to the schedule.
