RAWALPINDI: A grand ceremony to award military awards to officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army was held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi, where Chief of Defence Forces and Army Chief Syed Asim Munir awarded the martyrs’ families, officers, and soldiers with awards in recognition of their exceptional bravery in operations and distinguished services to the nation.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army, 50 officers and soldiers were awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) and 12 personnel were awarded the Tamgha-e-Bisalat during the ceremony. The awards of the martyrs were received by their families.
Addressing the ceremony, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir termed the martyrs and ghazis as the pride of the nation and said that their sacrifices are a sacred trust for every Pakistani.
He said that peace and security in the beloved homeland are the result of the martyrs’ great sacrifices, the spirit of selflessness, and unwavering commitment to duty.
The Army Chief paid tribute to the patience, courage, and steadfastness of the families of the martyrs and acknowledged their eternal sacrifices. He also appreciated the operational preparedness of the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies and the continuous operations against terrorism.

The Field Marshal reiterated the resolve that the war against terrorism will be continued with full national strength and unwavering determination until the establishment of lasting peace and stability in the country.
