Govt plans virtual education and work from home to reduce fuel consumption

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister chaired an important meeting regarding the stock and consumption of petroleum products.

According to sources, a meeting of the High Powered Committee was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister in view of the changing situation in the region in the country. The Finance Minister gave a detailed briefing to the Prime Minister in the meeting.

In the meeting, a plan has been prepared to reduce the working days of offices, educational institutions and service providers so that effective use of fuel stocks can be made possible.

Similarly, a plan for virtual education system in educational institutions and work from home for offices has also been decided. These measures will be helpful in reducing the demand for fuel and in effective use of stocks.

According to sources, along with the implementation of the plan, it has also been decided to change the prices of petroleum products weekly. Moreover, a strict crackdown has also been decided to stop hoarding, illegal storage and smuggling.
