Famous Anti-biotic medicine ‘Azomax’ declared fake

Famous Anti-biotic medicine 'Azomax' declared fake

LAHORE: The Drugs Control of Punjab declared a Class-I alert after the lab tests confirmed that four batches of medicine had been discovered as counterfeit and substandard.

Counterfeit medicine was reported to be distributed by illegal suppliers under the guise of being branded by legitimate pharmaceutical organizations.

It is revealed from preliminary test results that the medicine in question did not fulfill the required pharmaceutical standards and was, therefore, considered counterfeit or substandard.

Various steps have been taken by regulatory bodies to address the issue of counterfeit medicine, including the market recall of the suspected batch, the order to stop selling, and inspections to retrieve remaining stocks.

Healthcare providers and patients have been strongly advised by health officials to refrain from using suspicious or counterfeit supplies of Azomax.

Previously, counterfeit medicines such as Brexin, Danzen DS, Tonoflex-P, and Novidat 500 mg had been discovered in significant quantities, along with their connection to unregistered distributors.
