Animal Laden vehicles banned from entering motorways during Eid-ul-Azha

Dense fog shuts down Punjab motorways

HYDERABAD: The Motorway Police has imposed a complete ban on the entry of animal-laden vehicles on motorways during Eid-ul-Azha to ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow.

According to the spokesperson, overloaded and unfit vehicles carrying sacrificial animals often become a major cause of traffic accidents. Such vehicles will now be diverted to alternative routes instead of being allowed on motorways.

Officials said several dangerous accidents involving animal-loaded vehicles have occurred on motorways in the past, resulting in heavy loss of life and property.

The Motorway Police has directed Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police authorities to establish check posts at motorway entry points to enforce the ban effectively.

Authorities have also been instructed to prevent illegal parking near cattle markets and motorway interchanges during the Eid season.

The spokesperson warned that strict legal action will be taken against violations of traffic laws and loading standards.

The ban aims to prevent accidents and maintain uninterrupted traffic flow on motorways during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, the Motorway Police added.
