LAHORE: Bilal Akbar Khan, Punjab’s Provincial Minister for Transport and Mass Transit, has issued instructions to reduce transport fares following the recent drop in diesel prices.
The minister directed officials to release updated fare lists in accordance with current petroleum prices and established teams in all districts to ensure fare reductions are implemented effectively.
He also ordered strict action against transporters charging extra fares and instructed authorities to report on fare reductions. Any excess amounts collected are to be refunded to passengers.
Bilal Akbar Khan emphasized that the benefits of the diesel price reduction must reach the public directly, and no leniency will be shown to those overcharging passengers.
