ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad administration has issued a new notification regarding business hours as part of the Prime Minister’s austerity drive.
According to the decision, shops across the city will be closed at 8 pm, while some essential sectors will be exempted from this ban.
According to the notification, pharmacies, laboratories, medical stores and hospitals will remain open as usual so that there is no disruption in the provision of medical facilities to the citizens.
Similarly, petrol pumps, CNG stations, milk shops and sports gyms will also be able to continue working as per their usual hours.
On the other hand, hotels, tandoors, kirana stores and grocery shops have been directed to close at 10 pm. Along with fruit and vegetable vendors, bakeries will also have to close their business by 10 pm.
Additionally, wedding halls and marquees have also been ordered to close at 10 pm to reduce energy consumption and promote economy.
According to the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, this decision has been taken as part of the Prime Minister’s economy campaign, which aims to reduce energy costs and improve discipline.
The administration says that the implementation of this decision will be ensured and action will be taken in case of violation.
