Petroleum Price hike challenged in Lahore High Court

Govt raises petroleum levy on petrol by Rs15.86 per litre in one week

LAHORE: The recent increase in the prices of petroleum products has been challenged in the Lahore High Court.

According to the details, the petition against the increase in the prices of petroleum products was filed in the Lahore High Court by Azhar Siddique of the Judicial Activism Panel.

The petition has taken the position that the government has increased the price of petrol by Rs 55 per liter, the increase in prices is an illegal and anti-people measure, transport, electricity, agriculture and food items will also become expensive.

The petitioner has requested the court to declare the notification of the increase in the prices of petroleum products null and void.
