Punjab announces new school timings amid smog

ISLAMABAD – The federal government has notified that all educational institutes including schools will remain closed across the country on May 1, 2024, on account of International Labour Day.

In the notification, the Cabinet Division announced that on Labor Day all schools across Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and other parts of the country will observe a public holiday.

The Cabinet Division has mentioned May 1 as a public holiday in a circular listing public holidays for the year 2024.

Every year on May 1, the world celebrates International Labor Day, with a renewed commitment to upholding workers’ rights. Various public and private organizations host conferences, seminars, marches, walks, and webinars to honor the ultimate sacrifices of laborers.
