ISLAMABAD: According to the notification, federal government educational institutions will remain closed from March 24 to March 27, federal government educational institutions will reopen on March 30.
The spring vacations have been combined with the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
It should be noted that the Meteorological Department has issued a prediction regarding the moon sighting of Eid-ul-Fitr, according to which Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to fall on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
According to the Meteorological Department, the new moon will be born at 6:23 am on March 19, however, the age of the moon on that day will be only 12 to 13 hours, which has been declared insufficient for sighting.
The Meteorological Department says that for sighting the crescent, the age of the moon must be at least 18 to 20 hours, which is why there is no possibility of seeing the moon on March 19.
According to the Meteorological Department, the Shawwal moon is expected to be sighted on the evening of March 20, as a result of which Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to fall on March 21, however, the final announcement of Eid-ul-Fitr will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
