Ayesha Omar stuns with bold look amid Lazawal Ishq controversy

Ayesha Omar stuns with bold look amid Lazawal Ishq controversy

ISLAMABAD: Actress Ayesha Omar has once again taken social media by storm, this time in a stunning look from Istanbul.

Taking to Instagram, the 43-year-old star shared a shot of a bold printed dress, captioning it: “jhoooooming fo evva.”

However, her post comes as her upcoming digital reality show Lazwal Ishq is facing a backlash online. The show’s teaser, which was released earlier this week, sparked heated debate, calls for boycotts and demands for regulatory intervention.

The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) issued a clarification in response, saying it has no jurisdiction over Lazwal Ishq as the series will air exclusively on digital platforms rather than licensed TV channels.

The teaser introduces the show’s concept: eight contestants, four men and four women, live together in a luxury villa in Turkey, their daily interactions filmed. Omar, who appears in bold Western couples while exploring Turkey’s beautiful locations, describes the project as a search for “eternal love” through emotional highs and lows.

Based on international hits like Love Island and Too Hot to Handle and inspired by the Turkish success Aşk Adası, Lazawal Ishq is being billed as Pakistan’s first dating competition reality series for an Urdu-speaking audience. Planned to span nearly 100 episodes, it will feature alliances, challenges, eliminations, and ultimately the crowning of a “winning couple.”

But the project has quickly divided opinion. Opponents have dismissed it as “immoral” and against cultural values, fueling boycott hashtags, while others are curious about how the format will translate locally.
