ISLAMABAD: Responding to the viral social media video that incorrectly alleged that the individual who is seen being assaulted by the police in India was actually the Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali.
However, Hasan Ali is in England to play in the Vitality Blast 2026. The video, which has gained traction online, shows a person who claims to be on a train in India and is being attacked by the police officers. Multiple social media users have misleadingly suggested that the man is Hasan Ali, leading to speculations online.
After the video went viral on social media, Samiyah Khan clarified the rumors via Instagram Story.
“It’s so unfortunate that people in both countries are so naive and innocent to believe in everything fake that people come up with and end up sharing it,” she wrote in a post.
In a humorous tone, she continued: “We haven’t been to India in the past three years. Looks like people miss us and are trying to find an excuse to bring us back.”
She even posted multiple laughing emojis to dismiss the fake video about her husband.
Once again, this incident shows that misleading content can get distributed very rapidly through social media, hence urging users to verify the information before posting it online.
At the same time, Indian social media users are actively creating rumors and posting the fabricated video despite the explanations and false news stories regarding the issue.
In contrast, Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali wrapped up the Vitality Blast 2026 as the most successful bowler of the tournament, taking 27 wickets in only 12 matches played for Yorkshire.
While Yorkshire lost in the quarter-finals, Hasan managed to win the best bowler award due to his outstanding results.
Also, he created a new record as the most successful Pakistani bowler in one Vitality Blast season.
