Nadia Khan claims widespread presence of ‘Halala centers’ in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani actress and host Nadia Khan has once again hit the headlines after her recent statement on the ongoing Halala Center business in Pakistan.

Halala involves a divorced woman marrying another man, consummating the marriage and then obtaining a divorce, after which she can remarry her first husband.

Nadia Khan said this during a TV show while discussing the drama serial ‘Man Jogi’ revolving around the topic of Halala.

Nadia Khan said that the message of “Man Jogi” is very important at this time because people have turned Halala into business in Pakistan.

She said these Halala centers deliberately arrange marriages and divorces so that the woman can return to her first husband “legally”. Nadia said that such planned activities are forbidden in Islam, but people have made it a joke.

Nadia said she also saw advertisements for such Halala centers on social media as she also read an advertisement on her mobile phone during the show.

Following this statement, the TV host received support from social media users who said such behavior should be stopped.
