ISLAMABAD: An Islamabad sessions court has set September 20, 2025, as the deadline for filing charges against the accused, Umar Hayat, in the Sana Yousaf case.
The hearing in the case was conducted on Saturday by Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka.
During the proceedings, police brought the accused, Umar Hayat, before the court.
The court gave the accused copies of the challan in compliance with legal obligations.
Earlier, a Judicial Magistrate in Islamabad extended the physical remand of the alleged killer in TikToker Sana Yousaf’s murder case, according to media reports.
The accused was presented before the court after the completion of a four-day physical remand. The prosecution demanded further remand for further investigation.
Prosecution representatives Adnan Ali, Raja Naveed Hussain, and Mazhar Bashir appeared in court to request an extension to the remand for further investigation.
The court was informed by prosecutor Raja Naveed that although the accused’s car has already been found, the cell phone is still being sought.
“The accused is purposefully avoiding the recovery of the mobile phone because he is very sly and aware of the seriousness of his crime,” Raja Naveed said.
A seven-day extension was asked for by the prosecution. Nonetheless, the court ordered officials to re-present the accused on June 23 and granted a three-day remand.
