KARACHI: A disagreement has emerged between singer Umair Awan and TikTok influencer Minahil Malik over the use of her private video in the song “Laareya”.
Minahil said that Umair was using her private video without her permission, and he needed to delete it within twenty–four hours, threatening to file a legal notice if he did not delete the videos within the given time frame.

Umair refused to delete the song, rejecting her ultimatum, and stating that Minahil was free to act however she wanted. Once Umair rejected Minahil‘s demands, she filed an FIR against him and shared a video message that she had filed legal action against Umair and that he should go to court.

The music video just came out on YouTube three days ago and has already generated over 99,000 views. Minahil had already made statements that she was not happy with the use of her private clips in the music video, and that was unacceptable.
The feud demonstrates the importance of consent in the use of someone’s content with other creative works.
