ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued important instructions to protect mobile phone users from unnecessary balance deduction.

According to the PTA, users can activate the free balance save service to save their mobile balance. This facility is available on all mobile networks without any charges.

The authority says that often after the data package of the users is exhausted, the mobile internet automatically starts running from the balance, which can lead to unexpected deductions. The balance save or PAYG blocker service has been introduced to save from this problem.

After this service is activated, the mobile internet is automatically turned off if the data bundle is exhausted or completely used, thus the balance of the users is preserved.

PTA has advised users to activate this service immediately by dialing the specific USSD code of their respective network. Jazz users can avail the facility by dialing *275#, Zong users *4004#, Ufone users *6611#, while Telenor users can avail the facility by dialing *342#.

According to a PTA spokesperson, the aim of this service is to protect users from sudden balance deduction after the data package is exhausted.

The authority has said that citizens must activate the balance save service to stay safe from unnecessary deductions.
