Himmat Card is a welfare initiative launched by the Punjab government to support persons with disabilities. Under the Himmat Card program, eligible citizens will receive Rs 10,500 every three months to help with daily expenses.
The scheme mainly targets people who cannot work due to disability. Officials say around 65,000 persons with disabilities will benefit from the Himmat Card across Punjab.
Who can apply for Himmat Card
To qualify for the Himmat Card, applicants must be officially certified as persons with disabilities by the Social Welfare Department Punjab.
They must also be declared “not fit to work” and should not be employed in any government or private job.
Applicants already receiving financial support from programs such as BISP or Bait-ul-Maal are not eligible for the Himmat Card.
Poverty score requirement
The Punjab government has also set a poverty score condition for the program.
Applicants must have a PMT score of 45 or below to qualify for the Himmat Card assistance.
Extra benefits under the Himmat Card program
Besides the quarterly financial assistance, beneficiaries will receive ATM cards for easy withdrawal of funds.
The Punjab government has also announced free travel for cardholders on Orange Line Metro Train and Metro Bus services.
Officials say these steps aim to make travel easier and improve the quality of life for disabled citizens.
Minority Card Scheme also announced
Along with the Himmat Card, the Punjab government has introduced the Minority Card Scheme 2026.
This program will provide Rs 10,500 every three months to around 75,000 low-income minority households whose PMT score is 45 or less.
Where to apply
People who meet the eligibility criteria can get more details and apply through the official website of the Punjab Social Welfare Department.
The government says the initiative is part of broader efforts to provide financial support to vulnerable communities.
