Iran warns US bases in the region could become targets if attacks against the country continue. The warning came from the military headquarters of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards.
In a statement, the Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters said Iran has not carried out any aggression against neighbouring countries. However, it warned that continued attacks could lead to strong retaliation.
The statement added that all US air bases and American interests in the region may be targeted if the situation escalates.
Iranian officials said the country respects the sovereignty and interests of neighbouring states. They stressed that Iran has so far avoided any hostile action against them.
However, the military warned that if attacks persist, US and Israeli military facilities on land, sea and in the air could become targets.
According to Arab media reports, the announcement by the armed forces was broadcast through Iran’s state media after remarks from the Iranian president.
Officials said American and Israeli interests across the region would be considered primary targets if tensions continue to rise.
