LAKKI MARWAT: The Lakki Marwat IBO resulted in the killing of four terrorists during an intelligence-based operation, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation took place during the night of February 18 and 19. It was launched after security forces received reports about the presence of militants in the area.
The ISPR said troops surrounded the militants’ hideout in Lakki Marwat district. An exchange of fire followed, and all four terrorists were killed during the operation.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the dead militants. The ISPR stated that the suspects were involved in different terrorist activities in the region.
After the Lakki Marwat IBO, security forces started a sanitisation operation. This step aims to clear the area of any remaining militants and ensure complete security.
The military said operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam campaign will continue. These actions are part of the national plan to eliminate terrorism from Pakistan.
Officials confirmed that security forces remain determined to maintain peace and stability in affected areas.
