Patriata Cable Car Suspension Announced After Major Safety Upgrade Measures Underway

Patriata Cable Car Suspension

The Patriata cable car service has been temporarily suspended following a safety-driven decision aimed at ensuring the protection of tourists visiting the popular Murree hill station. The move, announced by the Tourism Department’s Northern Directorate, comes after recommendations from international experts who advised the replacement of the system’s iron rope to meet updated safety standards. The Patriata Cable Car Suspension is part of a broader effort to enhance visitor security.

According to officials, a new iron rope will be imported from abroad, and the replacement process is expected to take around one to one-and-a-half months. During this period, the Patriata cable car service will remain closed until all required safety checks and technical upgrades are fully completed. Authorities have stressed that the Patriota Cable Car Suspension is temporary and strictly precautionary in nature.

Despite the suspension, the chairlift service at Patriata continues to operate normally, allowing tourists to enjoy the scenic destination without disruption. Officials have also outlined several development initiatives for Murree, including a safari train for Kashmir Point, electric tourist carts, a glass walkway bridge, new chairlifts, and paragliding facilities. These projects aim to transform Murree into a modern tourism hub while ensuring long-term safety and improved visitor experience.
