Gen Syed Aamer Raza assumes charge as Commander, National Strategic Command

RAWALPINDI: General Syed Amir Raza has assumed charge as Commander of the National Strategic Command, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to the ISPR, General Syed Amir Raza, after assuming command, visited the Martyrs’ Memorial, laid a wreath and offered Fateha to elevate the ranks of the martyrs.

Later, the Commander National Strategic Command met with the Chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at General Headquarters Rawalpindi.

According to the ISPR, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir congratulated General Syed Amir Raza on assuming new responsibilities and expressed his best wishes for him.

Who is newly appointed Commander NSC General Aamer Raza?

The promotion of General Aamer Raza to four-star rank is well-deserved and comes after many years of successful service within the Pakistan Army, most recently holding the position of Chief of General Staff in GHQ, an important post that requires foresight and expertise in military matters.

This is one of the most important positions in the Pakistan Army and requires a high level of strategic, operational expertise and a deep grasp of military affairs.

Lieutenant General Amir Raza has previously served as Director General Weapons and Equipment and Chairman Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT).

General Amir Raza’s distinguished career in the Armoured Corps, service in various command, staff and training positions and professional expertise are a reflection of his wide-ranging military capabilities.

The promotion has been announced with the assertion that Pakistan Armed Forces have always stressed choosing their officers for top jobs based on professional merit and suitability for the job, security sources informed.

“He definitely has the necessary experience and capability to hold this important HQ in view of his previous positions,” they concluded.
