Petrol subsidy for bikers Pakistan is under serious consideration by the federal government as fuel prices continue to rise globally.
The government has contacted provincial authorities to support a major subsidy plan worth Rs 300 billion. This relief is expected to continue for about six weeks.
Officials say provinces have been asked to contribute around Rs 154 billion. The aim is to reduce the burden on motorcyclists and rickshaw drivers who are most affected by high petrol prices.
According to sources, the petrol subsidy for bikers Pakistan will mainly target two-wheelers and three-wheelers in the first phase. This focused approach is designed to support low-income groups.
Two key options are currently under review. The first option is to pass the full impact of international oil prices to consumers. The second option suggests giving limited subsidized fuel quotas.
Under the second plan, motorcycle owners may receive up to 20 litres of petrol at reduced rates. Rickshaw drivers could get up to 30 litres under the subsidy scheme.
The total cost of this petrol subsidy for bikers Pakistan is estimated at Rs 300 billion over six weeks. Officials say final approval will come after a high-level meeting.
This meeting is expected to include the President, Prime Minister, and Chief Ministers of all provinces. A final decision may be announced next week.
Meanwhile, official data shows that Pakistan currently has enough fuel reserves. These reserves are expected to meet national demand until May 10, 2026.
