Saudi Arabia Hajj Visa Issuance Begins February 8

Hajj Pilgrims Alert: 2 days left for Saudi visa biometrics

Saudi Arabia Hajj visa issuance will officially begin on February 8, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced, signaling the start of formal travel preparations for millions of Muslims planning to perform the annual pilgrimage.

Authorities said the early rollout reflects an accelerated operational plan designed to enhance services and improve the overall pilgrim experience. The initiative also aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy, which focuses on expanding capacity and modernizing religious tourism.

Meanwhile, officials confirmed that contracts covering key pilgrim services have already been completed. These include accommodation arrangements in Makkah, many of which were booked through the government’s Nusk platform. By finalizing agreements early, the ministry aims to reduce last-minute disruptions and ensure smoother coordination during the Hajj season.

So far, about 750,000 pilgrims from around the world have registered for the pilgrimage. Of these, nearly 30,000 secured packages directly from their home countries, reflecting growing confidence in streamlined booking systems. Additionally, around 485 camps have been designated to host international pilgrims at the holy sites.

The ministry also reported that 73 Hajj affairs offices have finalized their primary contractual obligations. This step is considered essential for managing logistics such as transportation, accommodation, and on-ground support.

In Pakistan, preparations are also moving forward. The government has completed registration for approximately 119,000 pilgrims under the official scheme. Furthermore, around 60,000 individuals have signed up through private operators, highlighting strong demand despite rising travel costs in recent years.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf previously stated that arrangements for meals, transport, and other essential services have been concluded through a competitive selection process. As a result, authorities expect operations to run in line with the Saudi schedule.

The announcement of Saudi Arabia Hajj visa issuance provides clarity for intending pilgrims, many of whom begin travel planning months in advance. Early confirmation typically helps travelers secure flights, finalize documentation, and attend mandatory training sessions organized by Hajj missions.

Each year, Saudi Arabia hosts one of the world’s largest religious gatherings. Therefore, advance planning remains critical to managing crowds safely and maintaining service quality.

With visa processing about to open and infrastructure plans already in place, officials say preparations are progressing as scheduled, offering reassurance to pilgrims preparing for the spiritual journey.
