Trump Iran war end: US President Ready to Conclude Conflict Despite Strait of Hormuz Closure

Trump unhappy with Iran's proposal to end war

US President Donald Trump has expressed readiness to end the Iran conflict, even as the Strait of Hormuz remains closed. Reports from the Wall Street Journal indicate that Trump told his aides he is prepared to conclude the war with Iran, prioritizing diplomacy over military escalation.

Officials within the Trump administration noted that while the Strait of Hormuz blockade complicates the situation, additional military actions could extend the conflict beyond a four- to six-week timeline. Despite having broad military powers, Trump prefers to use diplomatic measures to achieve US objectives.

According to reports, Trump plans to weaken Iran’s naval and missile capabilities first. After that, he intends to apply diplomatic pressure on Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end hostilities. If Iran does not comply, Washington is likely to coordinate with European and Gulf allies to restore access to this vital waterway.

Trump has also warned that if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed for more than 48 hours, the US may target key Iranian infrastructure, signaling the seriousness of the situation.

Analysts say this approach reflects a combination of military deterrence and diplomatic negotiation, showing Trump’s preference to avoid prolonged military conflict while maintaining US strategic interests in the region.
