LAHORE: 1.1 million people have registered for the new program of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif “ Maryam ko batain” in 10 days.
Under this program, thousands of eligible citizens have received Rs. 10,000 directly through Jazz Cash mobile wallets based on their identity card records.
According to statistics, 9.1 million people registered through the mobile app, 1.4 million through Helpline 1000, while 50,000 people registered through the web portal. On average, more than one lakh people are applying daily.
According to Saima Farooq, Chairperson 1000 Helpline and Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell, 1.8 million call attempts were recorded in an hour, while the call center has the capacity to receive 800 calls simultaneously, a message of being busy is given for additional calls.
He said that the extraordinary call volume is a reflection of the public’s trust. Under the program, eligible families can apply through the mobile app, web portal (mkb.punjab.gov.pk) or helpline 1000. After thorough verification and wealth filter, the money is transferred directly.
Beneficiaries are informed through robo-calls, SMS and verification calls and each applicant is provided with a tracking ID.
According to officials, the program is based on PSER data and PMT scoring. A digital verification system is implemented to ensure transparency and prevent double registration. Beneficiaries of Ramadan Nigahban, Ration Card, Benazir Income Support Program and Prime Minister Ramadan Relief Program will not be eligible for this scheme.
