The Supreme Court imposed 10 lakh damages on the Punjab government for building a road without compensation to the land owner.
In the Supreme Court, a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa heard the petition.
The petitioner has not gifted the land to the Government nor has the Government acquired the land as per law. Why did you file such a frivolous case in the Supreme Court, Chief Justice’s dialogue with AAG Punjab, our work remains to teach the Constitution to the Advocate Generals?

Expressing his anger, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa said, “Why not fine you for such a futile litigation, what is the duty of the Additional Advocate General?”
How in this way, useless petitions are filed, real cases are sidelined and false and false cases are filed, public resources as well as court time are being wasted by filing useless cases.
Later, the court rejected the appeal of the Punjab government and ordered the land owner to pay the compensation amount.
