SADIQABAD: A group of bandits abducted 13 agriculture workers employed at an orchard in Sadiq Abad with two children, police reported on Tuesday.
Armed bandits gang abducted 13 individuals hostage late last night, who were employed at a mango orchard in Sadiq Abad, and brought them to the katcha area, local sources added.
The hostages who were named are Nadeem Ahmed, Rasheed Ahmed, Waseem Ahmed, Saddam Hussain, Gul Hassan, Muhammad Bilal, Muhammad Hanif, Nadeem, Kashif, Majid Umair, Shahmeer Ahmed and Tanveer Ahmed.
The hostage crisis created a jurisdiction issue between the authorities of Sonmiani police station of Rajanpur and Bhong police station in Rahim Yar Khan, which caused delay in registration of kidnapping case.
Police authorities have informed that the case of abduction has been registered at Sonmiani police station.
A search operation has been initiated for recovery of the hostages, said officials further.
