341 people have lost their lives in KPK: Director PDMA Amjad Khan

ISLAMABAD: 341 people have lost their lives due to the flood disasters, including 222 people from Buner, according to Director Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Amjad Khan.

In the ABN News program “Sawal say Agay”, Director PDMA Amjad Khan stated that another cloudburst occurred in Swabi this morning, causing further destruction.

11 people have died in it so far, and rescue operations are underway there, and 15 people are still missing, buried under the rubble.

In Buner too, more than 100 people are still buried under the rubble and efforts are underway to retrieve their dead bodies, he added.

Army personnel, police personnel, and civil defense personnel are involved in the rescue operation.

The Director of PDMA noted that many people are buried under large stones weighing in the order of tons, making it very difficult to retrieve their dead bodies.
