After two losses, can Afghanistan still qualify for WC semis?

AHMEDABAD: After losing two consecutive matches in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, fans of the Afghanistan cricket team were disappointed, and the team’s journey in the event became extremely difficult.

Fans are curious to know if Afghanistan crashed out of the World Cup. After two consecutive defeats, Afghanistan is currently third in Group D with a net run rate of -0.555.

New Zealand and South Africa are first and second with 4 points each after playing two matches. Each team has 4 matches to play, and the top 2 teams will advance to the next round.

Despite losing 2 matches, Afghanistan can still qualify for the next round, but their journey is very difficult, but not impossible.

How can Afghanistan qualify for the Super 8 stage?

To make it to the Super 8, Afghanistan will not only have to win their remaining two matches (against UAE and Canada) by a large margin, but they will also have to hope that South Africa or New Zealand suffer large losses in their remaining two group matches.

If all these conditions are met, Afghanistan can advance to the next stage by finishing in the top 2 based on a better net run rate.
