AJK govt declares July 27 public holiday in Mirpur division

MIRPUR: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has declared Monday, July 27, a public holiday across the region in connection with the first phase of the 2026 general elections.

According to official reports, the notification was issued by the AJK government on the special recommendation of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission to facilitate the smooth conduct of polling

The Department of Services and General Administration of the Azad Kashmir government has issued a formal and formal notification.

Under the scheduled first phase of the general elections to the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, polling has been scheduled to be held in all the constituencies of Mirpur division on July 27.

The order issued by the Services and General Administration Department has clarified that this official holiday on July 27 will not be of a general nature but will apply only to the limits of Mirpur division.
