KARACHI: Renowned anchor Ayesha Jahanzeb has taken legal action against YouTube personality Dr. Omar Adil for using offensive language against her on a popular YouTube show, “Ganda Aanda”, hosted by Haseeb Khan.
In the viral video, Dr. Adil shared his opinions on Ayesha Jahanzeb’s personal life, including her marriage and family planning decisions. His comments sparked widespread outrage, leading to Ayesha Jahanzeb filing a case against him.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has taken Dr. Adil into custody, with a judicial magistrate in Lahore ordering him to be held in judicial remand. The court rejected the FIA’s request for physical remand, citing concerns about Dr. Adil’s safety.
Earlier, Dr. Adil, a doctor at Shaukat Khanum Hospital, was arrested on Tuesday following a complaint by Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari, who accused him of using vulgar language against women.
Omar Adil’s arrest has sparked a wider conversation about online harassment and the need for accountability.
This marks the third time Dr. Adil has faced legal consequences for his words, with previous cases filed by Ghareeda Farooqui, PLMN- leader Azma Bukhari, and now famous anchor person Ayesha Jahanzeb.
Ayesha Jahanzeb’s decision to take legal action against Dr. Adil has been praised by many, who see it as a stand against bullying and harassment.
The case is ongoing, with many waiting to see how it will unfold and how our justice system will handle this case
