Another earthquake strikes Islamabad, Rawalpindi, surrounding areas

Earthquake tremors felt in Türkiye–Syria border region

ISLAMABAD: Another strong earthquake of magnitude 5.2 has hit various areas of Pakistan, including the federal Capital (Islamabad) and Rawalpindi.

According to the details, the affected countries include Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan.

As per the local reports, the tremors of the earthquake were also experienced in Swat, Khyber district, Mansehra, Abbottabad, and the neighboring areas.

The PMD’s National Seismic Monitoring Center reports that the quake started at 5:30 pm at a depth of 22 kilometers. It had its epicenter in southeastern Afghanistan.

No loss of life or property has been reported so far; however, people have been asked to remain cautious in light of the threat of aftershocks.

Rescue and relief organizations have been alerted, and the administration of the affected districts is studying the impact of the earthquake.
