KARACHI: As the investigation into the Karsaz Road incident continues, internet users are demanding justice for the victims and called out several media groups for their bias toward the accused Natasha Iqbal, a prominent businesswoman.
On Monday (August 19), a speeding Toyota Land Cruiser, driven by Natasha Danish, lost control and hit a motorcycle before plunging onto the service road. As a result, two people died including a man and his daughter on the spot, while four persons sustained serious injuries. Accused Natasha Iqbal, wife of Metro Power Company Ltd CEO Danish Iqbal, was sent on 14-day judicial remand.
Social media started criticizing major media channels and publications for deleting the content regarding the Kasaz Road accident from their websites.
Taking on X, Political activist and lawyer Jibran Nasir called out The Express Tribune and ARY News to explain why they have removed the news stories from their websites about Natasha Iqbal and the Karsaz Accident.
While sharing screenshots, he alleged that the original news articles’ links were shown in Google search but the source content had been removed. Nasir argued, “Can money buy you complete immunity in Pakistan?”

“You can run over and kill people in broad daylight and the media will make sure everyone forgets about it. Forget about justice and conviction here you are protected from even getting condemned,” he wrote on the social media platform.
He went on to condemn both platforms, saying that the Management of these Media Houses appeared to have bowed down before the power and influence of the Accused removing/deleting news reports that were originally published about the Case.
Another user, Ashir Ali, questioned, what might be the reason behind the removal of news stories about the Karsaz Road accident that killed a father and daughter, involving the driver, Natasha Iqbal, the wife of an industrialist.

Fellow netizens expressed dissatisfaction about the case, saying, “Something fishy going on in this case.” He also attached screengrabs of the article published by ARY News, which was deleted later.

Anas Tipu, X user, shared The Express Tribune stories’ links about the Karsaz Road incident which has been deleted. “All three stories about the Karsaz accident deleted by Express Tribune. They don’t care about press freedom when it comes to the rich and elite,” he wrote.

Zarish K. posted detailed videos and screenshots showing articles by The Express Tribune not been found even though they appear in the search.
She captioned the post, “This is a perfect example of how power and wealth can twist the truth, leaving justice in the dust. The elite mafia manage to cover up their wrongdoings, escaping public scrutiny, and keeping themselves above the law. Meanwhile, the innocent and poor suffer in silence.”
