Sindh government grants permission to PTI to hold rally at Jinnah Ground

ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad has granted a post-arrest bail to 56 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers detained during November 26 protests.

ATC Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain approved the post-arrest bail and ordered the release of workers at a surety bond of Rs. 5,000 each.

Advocate Sardar Masroof appeared before the court on behalf of PTI workers. The cases were registered at Tarnol and Kohsar police stations.

Last month, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) approved the bail of more than 120 PTI workers arrested during the November 26 protest, ordering their immediate release.

A bench comprising acting chief justice Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif had heard the bail petitions. Lawyers Ali Bukhari, Babar Awan, Murtaza Toori, and others appeared in court.

Thousands of PTI supporters marched on November 24 from different cities to Islamabad for Khan’s final call to ensure the release of party members and restoration of democracy.
