Balochistan holds By-elections in 25 districts

AJK General Elections to Be Held on July 27, 2026

QUETTA: In a recent political update, Balochistan is witnessing local government by-elections on Sunday across 25 districts with a total of 167 candidates contesting for positions in district councils, with elections taking place in 51 wards.

Only the registered voters are getting the opportunity to cast their ballots from 8:00 am till 5:00 pm.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been finalized to ensure a smooth and peaceful electoral process.

Additionally, the ECP has established 60 polling stations and 138 polling booths to accommodate the registered voter base of 43,784 in the wards.

The ECP  has introduced a four-tier complaint management system at provincial, divisional and district levels to streamline the registration and resolution of public grievances, ensuring that voters can voice their concerns.

An Election Monitoring and Control Centre (EMCC) has also been prepared in Islamabad for addressing complaints related to the local government by-elections in Balochistan.

The EMCC will be operational between the polling hours until the results for the elections are compiled moreover, trained staff has been hired to ensure smooth conductivity of the elections.
