Cement retail price drops significantly

Latest cement prices in Pakistan - May 24, 2026

ISLAMABAD: A significant development has come to light in the country regarding cement prices. During the past week, a clear decrease has been recorded in the price per sack of cement in the northern regions, which is expected to provide some relief to the construction sector.

According to the latest report of the Bureau of Statistics, the average retail price of cement in northern cities in the week ending April 16 was Rs 1,548 per sack.

This price is about 1.21 percent lower than the previous week. Earlier, the same price was Rs 1,567 per sack.

On the other hand, the situation was somewhat different in the southern regions. There, the average price of cement was recorded at Rs 1,544 per sack, which is 0.71 percent higher than the previous week. This shows that the price trend is not the same in different parts of the country.

At the urban level, the price of cement per sack in Islamabad was recorded at Rs 1,541. In Rawalpindi, it was Rs 1522 while in Gujranwala it was Rs 1550. Similarly, in Sialkot, the price was Rs 1580, and in Lahore, it was Rs 1582 per sack.

In Faisalabad, the price was Rs 1530, in Sargodha, Rs 1562, in Multan, Rs 1561, and in Bahawalpur, Rs 1583 per sack. In Peshawar, it was Rs 1534, while the lowest price was recorded in Bannu at Rs 1480 per sack.

In southern cities, the price of cement in Karachi was Rs 1461 per sack. In Hyderabad, it was Rs 1532, in Sukkur, Rs 1600, in Larkana, Rs 1513, in Quetta, Rs 1490, and in Khuzdar, the highest price was Rs 1667 per sack.
