ISLAMABAD: The suspects arrested in the case of the alleged gang rape of a woman in the Centaurus Mall tower in Islamabad were presented in the Islamabad District Court.
The suspects were presented in the court of Judicial Magistrate Mureed Abbas, where the police requested a five-day physical remand.
However, the court partially accepted the request and handed over the suspects to the police on a three-day physical remand.
The court directed that the suspects be presented again in court after the physical remand is completed.
Both suspects arrested by the police confessed to raping the woman during police investigation.
A case of the incident has been registered at the Margalla Police Station, while the police are further investigating the incident.
Earlier, an alleged gang rape of a woman took place in the residential tower of the Centaurus shopping mall in the federal capital, Islamabad.
According to the police, the woman called 15 and reported the incident, after which the Margalla police took immediate action.
The police have started investigating the incident, while the medical examination of the victim was done at PIMS Hospital.
According to the police, officers reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported, and a preliminary investigation has been started, and the accused are being interrogated.
A spokesperson for the Islamabad Police said that a case is being registered in the incident, after which the details will be provided.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case in the incident, in which Faisal Jalal and Syed Hafeezullah have been named as accused.
The text of the case states that the accused called the woman on the pretext of a job and raped her, and when she refused, she was also tortured.
When the woman locked herself in the room to save herself, the accused broke down the door of the room and entered, and continued to torture her.
