ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan officially launched the Prime Minister’s Laptop Loan Scheme 2025, through which students, freelancers, and young professionals will be able to purchase laptops using interest-free installment loans.
Loan Categories
The scheme has three categories:
Basic: PKR 150,000
Medium: PKR 300,000
Advanced: PKR 450,000
The loans are all repayable in flexible monthly installments for several years.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should be Pakistani nationals aged 18 to 35 years. The program is available to:
University students
Freelancers
Young professionals
Preference would be given to candidates from poor families. Government servants, however, are exempt.
Documents Required
The following documents will be demanded from the applicants:
CNIC (front and back scanned copies)
Passport-size recent photograph
Income proof (salary slip or guardian’s income statement)
Educational certificates or proof of university admission
Freelancers can provide links to their online work resumes, like Fiverr or Upwork
Process of Application
The whole process of application will be done online via the official PM Youth Program portal.
