Chicken jump Rs 29 in two days

Chicken prices increased ahead of Eid

ISLAMABAD: The prices of chicken meat continue to rise sharply in the market, leaving consumers deeply concerned. Over the past two days, the price of broiler meat has increased by Rs 29 per kilogram, while a minor reduction of Rs 7 today has brought little relief.

Currently, broiler meat is being sold at Rs 475 per kg. The wholesale price of live broiler chicken stands at Rs 300 per kg, whereas the retail price has risen to Rs 324 per kg. Prices of mutton and beef have also come under discussion as consumers express frustration over the rising cost of poultry.

As per details, Consumers are demanding a further reduction in broiler meat prices, citing increasing financial pressure. Meanwhile, egg prices have also surged. The price of a crate of eggs has increased by Rs 30, pushing the total price to Rs 10,500 per crate.

 

Additionally, The continuous rise in poultry and egg prices has added to the burden on households already dealing with high inflation.
