RAWALPINDI: The Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry has dismissed claims made in a recent article by journalist Sohail Warraich, terming them baseless and misleading.

Talking to the reporters, the DG ISPR clarified that the event in question took place in Brussels, where hundreds of people were present and took photographs.

“No interview was given by the Army Chief, nor was there any mention of PTI or an apology,” he stated. The military’s spokesperson regretted that, despite being a senior journalist, irresponsible reporting was demonstrated.

The DG described the article as the journalist’s personal attempt to gain publicity. He emphasized that those responsible and facilitators of the May 9 incidents would be brought to justice according to the law.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s resilience, the DG ISPR said that the country holds a pivotal position in the region, which is why it remains a frequent target of hostile forces.

Addressing the occasion, the Lt Gen urged the youth to study and understand the history and heritage of their ideological state.

He also pointed out that India has weakened Pakistan’s reputation by using misinformation campaigns and terrorist proxies. “These attempts, however, failed as Pakistan’s forceful response damaged India’s reputation and that of its proxies.”

Chaudhry further emphasized that the political parties’ 2014 agreement to eradicate terrorism had not yet been properly carried out.

He emphasized the necessity of removing criminally implicated unlawful Afghan residents and making sure the 14 National Action Plan objectives are fully implemented.

Youth are the nation’s true resource, he said, adding that the “Army, police, and law enforcement agencies” are sacrificing their blood every day to fill governance gaps.
