Election Commission withholds results of five GB constituencies

GILGIT: The Election Commission has stopped the results of 5 constituencies of Gilgit-Baltistan, according to media reports.

The Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan has issued an order to stop the results of five constituencies and has prohibited the relevant returning officers from releasing the final results.

According to the notification issued, the results have been stopped until re-polling is held at specific polling stations. Under the decision, the results of constituencies GBA 15, GBA 16, and GBA 17 of Diamer district have been stopped.

Similarly, the results of constituency GBA 8 of Skardu and constituency GBA 13 of Astore have also been directed not to be released until further notice.

The Election Commission has also ordered the returning officers not to scrutinize and count postal ballots.

The notification has warned that legal action will be taken against the concerned persons in case of violation of the orders of the Election Commission.

Gilgit-Baltistan Elections: PPP and PML-N alliance likely to form government

Reports say that the PPP and PML-N alliance in Gilgit-Baltistan is expected to be on the PDM model, with the Chief Minister being from the PPP and the Governor being from the PML-N.

According to sources, the formula for distributing ministries in the coalition government will be 60/40.
