RAWALPINDI: A demand for an immediate 100 percent increase in the salaries of employees has emerged, while it has been demanded that the conveyance allowance, medical allowance and house rent should also be increased in proportion to the current inflation.
According to details, a strong protest demonstration was organized by the All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) outside the Rawalpindi Press Club, in which a large number of government employees participated.
The protesters raised strong slogans against inflation and the recent increase in the prices of petroleum products.
Addressing the protest, APCA leader Chaudhry Bashir Ahmed said that the rising inflation has made it impossible for employees to live, so salaries should be increased by 100 percent immediately.
Along with this, the employees demanded that the conveyance allowance, medical allowance and house rent should also be increased in proportion to the current inflation.
APCA leader Chaudhry Riaz said in his speech that the Punjab government is working tirelessly to fulfill the long-standing demands of employees.
He expressed reservations regarding pension reforms and said that the rights of employees will not be allowed to be sacrificed overnight.
APCA demanded that the Punjab government immediately adopt the path of negotiations and provide relief to the employees by recognizing their legitimate demands.
