ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan was brought to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Saturday and Sunday night, according to a media report in Dawn Newspaper.

The Newspaper quoted  “According to a senior doctor at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, the ex-premier was brought to the hospital under strict security on Saturday night for the procedure, which took quite some time. “Whatever procedure was going on, it was completed when the time reached in the am.”

As per the Newspaper, ” The doctor said there was “extraordinary movement” on Saturday night and the operation theatres and the anaesthesia room were cordoned off ahead of Mr Khan’s arrival at Pims.

Another doctor, however, denied this and said it was better not to discuss it as the PTI would make an issue out of such a development.”

Earlier, the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital had requested direct access to examine the health condition of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in a post shared on the social media platform X.

The hospital administration wrote that “A number of reports are in circulation since last night, suggesting that Mr Imran Khan is suffering from a serious eye condition known as central retinal vein occlusion.”

The post read that  “While we have every confidence in the abilities and professionalism of the physicians currently looking after him, we nevertheless request that a team of physicians from Shaukat Khanum Hospital be given immediate access to Khan Sb and be allowed to participate in his care, so as to reassure all those who are concerned for his welfare.”

Earlier, numerous PTI social media accounts shared posts on social media regarding the health condition of the PTI Chief.
