Eidul Azha reflects the faith and sacrifice: Mohsin Naqvi

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir himself spoke to the Sri Lankan Defense Minister and Secretary and persuaded them to continue the series.

While talking to the media in Parliament, the Federal Interior Minister said that our team spoke to them when Sri Lanka returned. The Sri Lankan team was very concerned about staying here, but we addressed all concerns.

The Sri Lankan authority was assured that Pakistan Army Rangers and police were handling security, after which the Sri Lankan President himself spoke to his team and persuaded them to play.

The members of the Sri Lankan team are our state guests, and we are providing them with similar protocol and security.

Mohsin Naqvi said that the Sri Lankan board and players have bravely decided to stay and play here.

I am especially grateful to the Sri Lankan President, government, their board, and players because the Sri Lankan board left the decision to the players.

Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had made a minor change to the schedule of the Pakistan-Sri Lanka ODI series.

According to the PCB, the second ODI will now be played in Rawalpindi on November 14 instead of November 13. Tickets purchased for the second ODI will be valid on November 14.
