FIR registered against KP CM Sohail Afridi over controversial statement

KP CM Afridi skips ECP Hearing, interim order expected

Islamabad: The National Cybercrime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has registered a case under the PECA Act against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi for his statement against state institutions. The case has been registered at the Cybercrime Reporting Center Islamabad.

A case was registered under the Cybercrime Act on a citizen’s complaint in the NCCIA, in which Sohail Afridi has been accused of spreading videos on social media based on hatred, misleading information, false and baseless statements against state institutions.

According to the text of the FIR, an attempt was made to damage the reputation of the state and national security institutions in the videos on social media. The KPK Chief Minister gave a false media talk against state institutions outside Adiala Jail. The video against state institutions was also spread through the official PTI patch.

It should be noted that Sohail Afridi had said in a statement that he used to tie dogs in mosques. A case has been registered against him on the basis of this statement.
